Corporate Social Responsibility plays an important role in Siegwerk India

Supporting children and young adults in the main communities Siegwerk India operates is a the primary focus of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. For 2022, digitalization remains a key pillar in Siegwerk’s long-standing global partnership with SOS Children’s Villages. Launched last year in India, this year digitalization will focus on online mentoring and Information Communication Technology (ICT). This fits nicely with Siegwerk’s New Horizons 2025 strategy to become a digital and circular packaging solutions provider.

Online workshops and mentoring topics include: Who Am I, Career Selection, Communication Skills, Interview Skills, Business Writing Skills and Teamwork.

In India, the youth unemployment rate is very high with a large percentage of young adults out of work and lacking further education and training opportunities. The major challenges that Siegwerkers are addressing to successfully help those entering the job market are: lack of skilled training, poor language skills and proper career path identification and awareness.

In addition to the team’s work with YouthCan! Siegwerk India also supports one family home in the Bhwana-Delhi SOS Children’s Village. Here children from below the poverty level are sponsored to participate in job-oriented courses such as nursing and teaching to prepare them for graduation and eventually securing good paying jobs.
