Malaysia’s National Day was celebrated with Kiwanis children
National Day was celebrated in grand style by the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Center in Johor Bahru on August 16. The event was organized by the Kiwanis Down Syndrome Center of Johor Bahru and included the participation of approximately 30 children with Down syndrome, their parents, teachers, sponsors from various private sectors, organizing committees and public volunteers.
The main goal of this event was to provide the children an opportunity to celebrate National Day and to bring more joy and happiness to their lives. It was also an opportunity to create more awareness about Down syndrome. This celebration also helped to strengthen the relationships between all sponsors and it provided a platform for the center to personally thank all the sponsors who contributed to the center. Many activities were held on that day, including musical chairs, a short run, netball and a photo shoot session.
Siegwerk employees, represented by top management, and the Kiwanis committee members participated in most of the activities. It was clear that the children felt a special bonding with all those present and they showed their best talents on National Day.
