Siegwerk supports intercultural understanding with Arkadaş sponsorship in Germany

Germany

The Siegwerk organization in Siegburg, Germany has supported the German-Turkish daycare center Arkadaş for several years. The Turkish word Arkadaş translates to friend in English. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, Siegwerk has been a good neighbor and friend for the 55 children aged six months to six years.

Our society depends on successful dialog - not only between cultures, but also between differing world views, religions and generations. At the Arkadaş daycare center, intercultural understanding is already developed at an early age. Here youngsters are taught a number of cultural topics including language, nutrition, media, physical education, natural sciences and much more.

"It's nice to see how the children learn cultural values at an early age in a harmonious and professional environment, and how this is promoted among all students,” said Nikole Peters, Manager of Corporate Communications and CSR. “Siegwerk prides itself in the many community sponsorships, like the long-standing relationship with Arkadaş, which the company embraces. This is just another great example of how we give back to the communities we serve.”
