Digitalization project in India 2021

For 2021, Digitalization is a second focus area in Siegwerk’s long-standing global partnership with SOS Children’s Villages. This year a new program has been launched in India which dovetails with Siegwerk’s New Horizons 2025 strategy to become a digital and circular packaging solutions provider.

In India, the youth unemployment rate is very high and more than 30 percent of young adults are without work and lack further education and training opportunities. The major challenges to successfully entering the job market are: lack of skilled training, poor language skills and proper career path identification and awareness.

To help young people in the area near Siegwerk’s Bhiwadi site, the team in India will provide infrastructure support, hard- and software as well as connectivity for digital applications.

The real joy for local Siegwerkers is the opportunity they get to act as virtually engaged mentors or trainers to support SOS youth in becoming self-reliant and successful in finding a job. This is all part of Siegwerk India’s comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility strategy to support the youth of the region.
