Siegwerk Argentina active on the path of sustainability
Argentina
Siegwerk Argentina has joined the campaign of donating its used coffee capsules to the Goethe Schule School.
The school has developed a Sustainability Workshop where teenagers between the ages of 14 and 16 years who attendthe Goethe Schule School (a subsidiary located in San Isidro, Province of Buenos Aires), work on sustainable actions and other related initiatives.
One of these activities is directly linked to the collection and recycle of used coffee capsules. The aluminum is separated from the residual coffee, and the two materials are then recycled separately.
The aluminum is fully recycled and it is given a new lease of life as earrings. The jewelry is later sold at the School Christmas Fair and the money raised is used to provide scholarships for students who attend schools with very few resources in the San José de Boquerón, Province of Santiago del Estero in the north of Argentina.
Apart from this activity, this committed group of students created an Eco Club within the school to promote awareness around the importance of recycling and its impact in the sustainability.
This is a clear example of an environmentally conscious practice - says the teacher responsible for the workshop - and we very much appreciate the donations provided by Siegwerk Argentina.
