Siegwerk Siegburg donates IBC’s for German flood victims

Within the last week, several parts of Germany have been destroyed by a flood catastrophe, resulting in over 120 deaths and still more than 150 people missing. The Rhein-Sieg area, where Siegwerk’s largest plant is located, was one of the regions affected, however, the region around Ahrweiler in Rheinland Pfalz was hit particularly hard by last weeks’ heavy rain falls and flooding.
Yesterday, 20 IBC’s were delivered to the Bad Neuenahr Fire Department in the Ahrweiler region. The much needed IBC’s were eagerly awaited by the head of the local fire department. He expressed his gratitude towards Siegwerk and will put the IBC’s to good use, filling them with water and distributing them immediately.
As much of Bad Neuenahr has been flooded, clean drinking water is not readily available at the moment. To help store clean water for the affected families, a team from Siegwerk Siegburg, led by Christoph Linden, Project Manager Global Engineering, took the initiative and packed up 20 IBC’s to be shipped out immediately.
Thanks to the team for their quick and straightforward efforts to help those people in need.
In addition to this initiative, Siegwerk and its employees in Siegburg are donating money to several charity organizations.
