Safety and conformity in inkjet ink development
For Siegwerk, product safety and conformity are also top priorities in the development of inkjet inks. Our migration optimized UV inkjet solutions are among the best on the market today. By using a proprietary technology based on reactive monomers and polymeric photoinitiators, we always ensure that our inkjet inks comply with all relevant regulations and guidelines, enabling the lowest migration risk possible. Furthermore, all used ingredients not only follow diligent raw material introduction processes, but also are continuously measured and evaluated by dedicated experts to ensure the highest level of quality.
Today, we do not only offer the development of perfectly tuned solutions of inks and complementary primers or OPVs, but also develop any CMYK, CI or other desired spot color solution on demand – always meeting the individual needs.

Siegwerk’s Inkjet solutions for industrial packaging
Siegwerk focusses on developing ink systems for piezo drop-on-demand inkjet.
Our offering includes customized UV and water-based inkjet inks, primers and overprint varnishes (OPVs) for a wide spectrum of substrates from labels, paper and tissue through corrugated board and folding cartons to flexible film packaging.
Whether water-based or UV inkjet is the best technology depends on the application. Water-based inkjet is particularly suitable for thin or porous substrates and is predestined for applications with high demands on product safety and conformity. All our water-based inkjet ink solutions also have a content of bio-renewable raw materials of >50%, generally making them an ideal candidate for sustainable packaging in the sense of a Circular Economy. UV inks are particularly suitable for thicker substrates and application with high demands on brilliance and gloss as well as ink film fastness.
